Lihao International Hotel is extremely luxurious! I was surprised at how beautiful the hotel was, especially once I saw my room. Considering the price I paid, I did not expect it to be so fancy! Despite the heat of the time, I had a wonderful sleep in the huge bed with the room climate controlled. The staff were very helpful, and did not allow our language barrier to restrict their high level of service. When I wanted to use the free internet, a staff member came up to my room promptly to show me how. Breakfast was a new experience for me, as I have never travelled in China before. But there was such a large variety available that I was able to try new foods and ultimately find many things that I loved. The shuttle bus to the airport was great too. I made my connecting flight with ease the following morning. There are also restaurants, a supermarket and a lovely bakery just across the road.
It would have been good to have had a sheet on the bed as well as the heavier blanket, as it would have been more suitabe for the warm weather. Also, my friend and I craved a cold drink at breakfast. The orange juice was served hot, and the ice available was unable to reduce the temperature down adequately. More labels of the food atbreakfast could also be an improvement. But do not be dismayedby these suggestions - these minor flaws may only have applied to us Australians, and they did not detract from our very positive impression of the hotel,.
the room is very clear and staff are friendly.
On the website, it said " 3 Km from airport", but when i took the taxi it is actually around 13 Km. Maybe the taxi driver made some mistake and made it longer, but when i check the GPS it 7.8Km. In all, 3 Km from airport is impossible. But this is the only reason i wanted to book this hotel.
The bedroom was excellent.
This is only a "not quite so good" item, not a really bad one. The method of ordering food was odd - look at pictures on one floor, and get someone to write it down to be served on another! The service itself was not really up to standard, we were given food with no chopsticks (or other implements) to eat it with, and had to ask for chopsticks, and then one item did not arrive until we asked for it again. Paying for the meal was a performance in itself, involving 3 people, a phone call to bring a 4th, and then a trip to another floor to pay! However this was all just small detail, the stay was fine in everyother way.
Room was very nice for the price.
Shuttle service in the morning is 2 hours apart.
I phoned the hotel from the airport about 11 pm to ask about a shuttle service the other hotels were using. I was pleased they offered to pay my taxi fare to the hotel - especially when it turned into a 15 min trip, rather than what I expected from the advertising that influenced my decision to stay at the airport.
The hotel advertises it is 3 km from the airport but it is 15 min by taxi and 20 min by bus (free) on a Sunday with no traffic, so may be around 15 km, when other "airport" hotels are much closer. The 3 km claim may relate to distance from the airport precinct. My credit card was charged 800 cny on arrival, then the 580 agreed rate when I checked out. Language problems left me unconvinced the 800 would be voided else credited. I arrived 6 hours late due to flight disruption and it would have been nice to have something in the bar fridge.
Convenient, afordable, clean, beds are really confortable, excellent choice for a nearby airport hotel. They only have transport to the airport from hotel. Breakfast included quite ok
The staff were friendly and are willing to help. However, the hotel is mainly intended for travelers from chaina and the few foreign guests I saw in the hotel had a chinese guide/ host always with them.
The restaurant should also get a menu card in english with some description. The hotel promised me to provide me free transport from the airport which ultimately did not arrive... They should give clear directions with approximate taxi fares. If necessary, write in chinese that can be shown to the driver. The shanghai taxi drivers are hopeless...
Woderful staff and a lovely hotel
we stayed there only one nigt between fligts its near airport..
For an 'airport hotel' it was nice enough.
The beds were comfortable
Close to the airport and free shuttle bus. Market nearby. Big room. Helping stuff. Good for short stay when using pvg airport.
Nothing to see and do around. Poor breakfest and basic cleaness. Difficult to communitate in english. WiFi only close to the Reception area not in room. Not at all english tv chanels. No tourist information, maps etc. (can be collected in the airport) Shuttle bus should be asked by the phone as taxi driver from the aiport didnot know the way.
close to the air port, stayed because of it. just the night to catch the flight the next day. lonely place but ideal for business traveller,
no international food for foreign travellers, only mostly seafood. even breakfast was 100percent chinese.
payment options: Staff don't know the difference between debit or credit. In addition, I was overcharged. Was supposed to have payed approximately $60.00 USD, thus far have been charged $110.00 and don't know why. The hotel ran several transactions I'm yet to understand actual cost though reservations indicate I should have payed approximately 60 USD.. Initially I understood it was only a deposit, when I arrived home and verified my credit card transactions I'm yet to understand why I was charged 50+ dollars more than should have. Finally, information on the web indicates hotel is located approximately 5 kilometers, it's more like 12 kilometers.
Driver to airport terminals, at time and dynamic.
I chose that hotel because of its location close to Pudong Airport as my group of 4 needed to sleep one night before we left China. The hotel is far from train station (40km, approx 160 rmb) but very close to Pudong airport and it offers free shuttle service to airport, which is an excellent thing. The hotel seem to be new and rooms are just great: bathroom is huge as well as the shower. Bed very comfortable, a lot of space in the room. Sleep quality very good. Free coffee and tea as well as kettle in the room are small things that we liked. Good toiletries and towels as well.
For long time I haven't met so badly organize reception staff. I booked 2 rooms for 4 people (2 couple) and needed to explain two young ladies that we won't sleep in one room as I booked 2. Poor English, staff laughing at your face when you want to pay in cash and separately for each room (as there were 2 couples). You need to disturb them if you want any attention. Poor breakfast as well. Only Chinese and bad quality. Overall I liked the hotel because of rooms quality and location close to Airport.
